Online safety tips

Protect your personal data:

Be careful with the information you give to other users. Keep not only your passwords, but also information about addresses and habits in everyday life secret until you know the person better. We ask you to be particularly careful with information about your place of residence and finances.

Use the platform:

The DoSo platform gives you the opportunity to get in touch with other users who are interested in the same activities. You can also exchange messages via our chat to determine the time and place. Therefore, you do not need to share your phone number or email address.

Report situations in which you feel unsafe:

Your well-being and the feeling of security are the most important things for us. Therefore, you can contact us if you have the feeling that something is not right, you are unsure or feel harassed by someone. Situations to report might include:

  • Requests for money or donations
  • (Sexual) harassment, threats or offensive messages
  • Inappropriate or harmful conduct
  • Fake or fraudulent profiles
  • Unsolicited advertising from other messages (spam)

Inquiries for money or donations:

Do not transfer money or donations, if they are requested by other users. DoSo offers the option to pay for premium or business offers within the app via the store. Transfers can be difficult to reverse or locate. We also ask you not to share your financial data.

Offline safety tips

Choose the place of the meeting:

You can find out how and where you meet via the DoSo app. We recommend that you choose a public place for the first meeting that is easily accessible for everyone. If possible, either travel separately or use public transport.

Inform persons of trust:

If you are planning an activity with other users, tell someone you trust about your plans. Let that person (this can be a family member or friend) know what you're planning, how long you'll be traveling, who you're traveling with, and where you're going. Also decide what happens if you don't report back at the agreed time.

Be aware of your limits:

Everyone has their individual limits and comfort zones. At every meeting, be aware that you know these and respect the boundaries of others. This includes limits in relation to alcohol, but also in sports or other activities. Please keep an eye on your drinks and personal belongings during the activities and know that you can leave at any time.
